As someone who is a self proclaimed newbie at a proper make up routine, I decided to share the wisdom I have gained over the past few months with people who might be in the same situation as I was in. Here are 5 things to keep in mind when going through your everyday make up routine.
1. Use a primer
I can’t stress this enough! A nice and sticky primer not only hydrates your skin but also makes your foundation long lasting on those long days when you don’t have time to retouch your make up.
2. Use a foundation with SPF
We live in Dubai. The sun is harsh, regardless of the season. It’s best to invest in a good foundation with a high SPF to give your skin that extra protection.
3. Replace your mascara every 3-4 months
Seriously. The best of mascaras clump and you don’t want clumpy eyelashes, do you? It’s best to replace your mascara every 3-4 months.
4. Q Tips are your best friends
There is plenty that can go wrong when doing your eye make up and Q tips are the answer to every problem you will face. Just swipe them onto some make up remover and wipe away those mistakes.
5. Blend blend blend!
Don’t forget to blend your foundation into your neck for a full coverage look. Otherwise it just looks weird and we DO NOT want that happening! It’s also important to blend your concealer onto your skin properly. Use whatever works best for you; a brush or a beauty blender or even your fingers, for that matter.
